Last week, incoming and current Year Up Puget Sound students attended a resource fair to help get them ready for their next steps.
It featured a mixture of newly enrolled youth and young people who have completed the first half of the program and will be continuing on to their assigned internships at companies like Microsoft, Deloitte and Alaska Airlines, just to namedrop a few.
Students in the program had the opportunity to visit the “clothing closet” where they could find business-appropriate threads to ensure they look sharp for their internships. Additionally, WithinReach and Solid Ground attended to provide students with information and access to basic supportive services including signing up for ORCA LIFT and Basic Food benefits and Swedish Medical was there for on-site medical screenings.
The program does an excellent job of providing all the necessary supports for students throughout the entire program to ensure that they can successfully complete the program. It was great to meet and interact with these amazing young adults and provide information on the Crisis Clinic, King County 2-1-1 and of course, the Youth Program Directory.
